a bit of Rumi for the afternoon tea break.

If anyone asks you
how the perfect satisfaction
of all our sexual wanting
will look, lift your face
and say,

Like this.

When someone mentions the gracefulness
of the nightsky, climb up on the roof
and dance and say,

Like this.

If anyone wants to know what "spirit" is,
or what "God’s fragrance" means,
lean your head toward him or her.
Keep your face there close.

Like this.

When someone quotes the old poetic image
about clouds gradually uncovering the moon,
slowly loosen knot by knot the strings
of your robe.

Like this.

If anyone wonders how Jesus raised the dead,
don’t try to explain the miracle.
Kiss me on the lips.

Like this. Like this.

When someone asks what it means
to "die for love," point
here.

If someone asks how tall I am, frown
and measure with your fingers the space
between the creases on your forehead.

This tall.

The soul sometimes leaves the body, then returns.
When someone doesn’t believe that,
walk back into my house.

Like this.

When lovers moan,
they’re telling our story.

Like this.

I am a sky where spirits live.
Stare into this deepening blue,
while the breeze says a secret.

Like this.

When someone asks what there is to do,
light the candle in his hand.

Like this.

junenoongloom 2-minute poem

Inside,

words born of electric lights

are clamoring for more

attention.

Those walls and desks close in

they seem to rise

each every way you look.

A screen is poor substitute

for what a flower knows to do

without effort or design;

don't wait until you break:

this tension

is one more warning sign.

Let's go somewhere

and skip this silent hum of wires:

my mouth is yours;

your hands are mine

to celebrate Desire.

Also, this morning, I am about to engage into a spirited fight with my looping station, Boss RC-50. Yes, I am learning how to loop live – it's mostly for my vocals – and it is going well so far, but I am still struggling a bit. But Russians rule over tech!…. erhm…. supposedly. So here I am.

Today is gray and drizzly, and the feline in me this morning is emphatically refusing to be awake under these circumstances.

But I am also filled with a feeling that this week heralds a start of amazing things.. Ok, I called it here first.

But yes, today I have to make some plans and decisions, but also work on a new operatic hybrid of a song.

Fabulousness of the Femme

I absolutely adore this woman.

And is this not the most classic picture? It just put me in a supremely nostalgic mood, and I am feeling like pulling out my Gershwin piano sheet music and diving in for the rest of the night.

There is something in the air tonight which invites to reminisce..
