I have been told that being an optimist is a failing in being able to perceive reality correctly. I have learned that reality is far more complex and stretchy than any human could ever fathom. I have found it takes courage to shoot for the stars, shout in the face of the storm and take a bet on yourself with a hooded stranger.
Whenever anything is really worth it, fear is not far behind. It is through transcending it that we get to new places. What most people do not know is that fear wears many masks. Not all of them are honestly frightening, as perhaps they should be. 'Practicality' and 'realism' are two of its favorite disguises. Playing it safe or following other people's paths are two of its favorite tricks.
I have come to believe that fortune does favor the brave.
