Sarah was amazing. Such a lovely spirit. OK, she also said I looked like a goddess in my white outfit. Kudos to Missy Washington of i102fly for being there to make me into one for the day.

in the end we all ended up on the Big Stage performing Because The Night. For some reason I was given a red shaker just before I was ushered on-stage. I had no idea what to do with it, but I coped. Sarah has two guitar players who look like blond twins and sport a wholesome, but somewhat 80s look. Buttefly Boucher who is in the background is amazing, and that night she totally channeled Lisbeth Salander from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo film. Very interesting.

The place was packed. The stage was Big. I was waiting backstage at this point, about to join others on the final song. I wanted to be on that stage. For hours. With that piano. Just the two of us (and the crowd, of course).

I was in one of my favorite places in the world the other night – Barnes and Noble. Put me in a Barnes and Noble, and come back two hours later.. I am still there, happy as a clam.

But anyway.. I was browsing through magazines. Three of my favorite magazines are Wired, Discovery and National Geographic.

..and in Wired, came across an article about a gentleman who has been working for a few years now to develop a vaccine for.. stress.

I find the concept a touch frightening. I do, however, applaud his grand vision and good intentions. But don't you think it's a bit much? Our – Western – culture is so prone to this.. 'shock and awe' approach.

That said, I don't enjoy negative stress. But, what about art? What about lessons we learn from pain and discomfort? What about learning how to relax, process the events differently, adopting a different outlook, forgiveness? How about evolving?

What about my Russian propensity for drama, damnit? I am not giving it up!

I am working on a special cover of a song. Let's just say, you have heard it.. but haven't heard anything quite like what I am going to do with it.

i wish it was raining

The song above is a remix of a Russian song of mine, called Rain, and the track was remixed by Jon Licht, who also raps on it.

I am in the midst of big changes in my life. Most of them are rather excellent, but also some other insights that have come to be clear in the recent weeks are a bit less easy to digest or act upon for me.

Over the years I have become a believer that when you have a lesson to learn, life doesn't let up. It will just keep coming up.. and coming up.. and getting louder.. and louder.. until finally you simply can't ignore it.

One big lesson is: never take anything or anyone for granted.

The other is: life is often far kinder to us, than we are to ourselves at the end of the day.

There are many more.. oh, but I really hope I am passing the tests this time around, with at least a 70% rating. That is really all I ask and can hope for.. Yesterday I got hit by bone-crushing sadness and today I am still a little bit in that place. But I hope the picture below speaks of days to come.
