in and out of closet
Yes, I know I have not written for a bit. This must be corrected immediately.
But I have been hard at work in the studio. Some photographs coming soon, as Missy Washington will get in here and immortalize me and Greg (unless he decides to hide in the bathroom).
I have been learning so much, and one of the most pleasurable things has been making vocal arrangements.. for which I locked myself in a very small closet this past weekend in order to be able to get some definitive takes of vocal harmonies and avoid construction noises next door. The closet is VERY small. I'll post a picture.
Right now it's 1 pm, and I have been working non-stop, kind of, since yesterday morning at 8 am. That includes studio 11-8 pm, then home, a bite to eat, some practice, and more work. To wake up at 630 am this morning to do more work, and then rush to the studio again. But it's all very much worth it. The thing about vocal arrangements is that they take time – you try various lines and some work and others don't. Then you create layers of them. And you have to be in tune. It is rather laborious and highly addictive. I can understand why Imogen Heap spends days and weeks coming up with hers and then tweaking them. Give me a house somewhere in the country, a piano, a recording set-up and I can spend months just layering oodles of vocals on top of each other. Hmm..
Well, back to work. For now, is this wrong of me to covet this dress? Worn with panache by a compatriot Natalia Vodyanova. Mind you, looking at it reminds me that after studio time, I need to start swimming every day because I am becoming a sedentary creature. Eek. Once I am done with this record, I am onto a new phase of extreme girlish elegance.
